Curious, isn't it? We're at Windsor Castle with my sister and brother-in-law (Becky and Joel Hunter). We grabbed lunch at the Ha Ha Bar & Grill. Meetings start first thing in the morning and I'm concerned for the following.
1. How bad can jet lag get? I'm walking around in a coma - stupid as a rock.
2. It seems that it is always raining in London. It rains a lot. But it is not a severe problem because you can't see the rain through the fog.
3. I look like I have the miseries; Sheila looks like a million bucks. What's that about?
4. Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. Even so, it feels weird for the castle to be occupied by me.
5. The rate for currency exchange here in the UK means every US dollar is worth one zillionth of one British pound. This is not helpful.
6. Significant time is scheduled for study in St. George's Chapel (within the castle precincts, it is one of the most beautiful ecclesiastical buildings in England). Sheila asked me to use my inside voice.
Looks like we're off and running.
1 Peter 2:17 - Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king.

Glad to see you guys made it safely. You mentioned the rain and fog. What about the temperature? We will be in London in a couple of weeks an want to be prepared. Thanks for going first and scouting it out for us. HA, HA! We hope you guys have a great time! I wonder if you will see a theater multi-site there?

Dad! I love that you are at the Ha Ha! I'm laughing just thinking about it. Mom is better at using her inside voice than you are. I wish I could be there for all the shenanigans! Tell Aunt Becky and Uncle Hunter they are awesome!
Love you!

I am glad to see you made it - Praying for you all. The rain should pass and sunshine tomorrow according to weather.com. Keep posting.

I wish I were there. Both to hang out with you all and to meet N.T. Wright.
If you take really good notes like you did at the Warren thing (another venue I tried unsuccessfully to procure an invite to), then I can listen vicariously through you again. However, I do not know if castles have wifi. If you can't take notes, no worries.
In other news-- the interns started @ Summit today. Aaron is the Chief Resident overseeing and training them well. He is a fine man.

My wife and I were there last May about this time. The weather can change quickly!
I had never really wanted to go to London, but now LOVE it! We stayed a week, went non-stop. Things to skip, things to NOT miss:
1. Windsor was fantastic, as you already know. It sticks with you long after...We had scones and tea at the exact place you guys were at...funny!
2. The bus tour was a waste. WAY too much traffic, too slow, boring. Madam Tussauds stunk as well...:)
3. The Abbey is simply.....amazing. Look for David Livingston's burial site near the exit. No one there knew who he was so I had to ask and ask. Touching last words.....
4. The London Eye is another waste of $...but the walk from the Abbey to it is great in good weather!
5. The Tower of London is amazing as well. The tour given by the Beefeaters makes it really come alive. GREAT cafe as well, with unbelievable deserts, a rarity in London....
6. The British Museum is unlike any other. I do not particularly like museums, but could have stayed DAYS in there. Start at the back, with Mesopotania/Ur of the Chaldeas (Abraham) and artifacts they used and found, then go from there thru time. It will blow you away, as about any ONE of the millions of things in there would be charging large fees in the States to see. And it is FREE!!! :)
7. Harrods. Go straight to the "Food Court". Definitely NOT American Food Court!!! The tube makes this stop super easy.
8. The 1 place we found ourselves gravitating to each day at days end was Covent Gardens. It is a piazza area that is THE place to get a great coffee and the cookie shop at the end is the best cookies I have eaten. Never dull, always live place. We would take the Tube to Leister Square and walk the Show district and parks. Shows are also cheaper than in the States, esp Broadway.
We are planning to go back soon, hopefully. Oh....Hillsong London is the most energetic church I have been to. It is buzzing from 30 minutes prior, and we went to the 3pm service! Right at a tube stop as well..
Hope that helps....
