June 7th a flood hit my in-laws home in Columbus, Indiana . Eleven inches of rain fell in just a few hours. They were slammed by the torrential rains.
Look at the high water mark on their neighborhood sign. I took this picture yesterday. You can see how high the waters rose. Basements filled with water. Homes were flooded.
Everything the flood touched was effected. The stain is hard to remove.
The deluge resulted in staggering loss.
So it is with the the consequences of sin. When evil rushes over its banks it sweeps over everything in its path. If you live in low places and content yourself with low-living, you've put yourself at risk. You are dwelling in sin's flood plain.
Choose to live with a low-life, or build your life in the valley of sin, and you're home is in jeopardy.
Take the high road. Build your life on high ground.
Storms will come. Waters will rise.
Build wisely.
Get to this weekend's service and learn how you can build your life in the high place of faith.
Matthew 7:24-27 - "All who listen to my instructions and follow them are wise, like a man who builds his house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents, and the floods rise and the storm winds beat against his house, it won’t collapse, for it is built on rock. But those who hear my instructions and ignore them are foolish, like a man who builds his house on sand. For when the rains and floods come, and storm winds beat against his house, it will fall with a mighty crash."

Very awesome thought! Hope your time with McNichols is awesome! Tell them Hunter and I said "HI!"

The flood is still impacting many families as they try to rebuild and re-start their lives. At Berean (here in Columbus) one of our service producers put together this video on the Columbus flooding:

In the midst of all of this - God is good.
