Clarity is power.
The best people (those who lead well, live strong and help most) have clarity. They do what's right. They live by principle, not emotion. They prove themselves faithful over time.
Sheila's dad is like that. He is a Christ-follower. He has clarity.
He and Granny came to the lake and shared dinner with us one evening this week. Watching him you discover character and competence matter more than credentialing and credits. He is now enjoying the fruit of faithfulness; God is blessing his lifetime of obedience.
Here's my takeaway:
If you do what you ought to, when you ought to, you can do what you want to, when you want to.
Deuteronomy 6:18 - "Do what is right; do what is good in God's sight so you'll live a good life and be able to march in and take this pleasant land that God so solemnly promised through your ancestors..."

I love this picture of papaw!

I thought it was a great picture of John also. We have always admired John and Ellie.
