Today is my daughter's birthday, and even though I have services to preach, and people to meet, and things to do, I can't stop thinking about Angela. She is on my mind.
I've been thinking of her compassion.
All the years of her life have been marked by it.
She has great concern for the least, and the hurting and the weak.
She is a friend to the disadvantaged.
She really cares.
I've been thinking about her resolve.
She is unbending on her core convictions.
Undeterred. Undaunted. Unyielding.
What she believes about right and wrong puts steel in her spirit.
She won't give an inch to a bully.
She won't tolerate rebellious pride.
"Strong-willed compassion. "
It's almost an oxymoron.
It's like "curiously-strong,"
Or "random-pattern,"
Or "terribly-wonderful,"
Or "pretty-bad."
Angela is a wonderful blend of conviction, compassion and strength.
She is a great woman.
She is following Jesus.
She is my daughter.
I couldn't be more proud of her.
Happy Birthday Angela!
Proverbs 23:24 - A righteous person's parents have good reason to be happy. You can take pride in a wise child.
Yea Angela!!!!! I love that girl!
