As I prayed this morning I found my spirit lingering over the faithful of GCC working behind the scenes. I know them. I love them. But so much of what they do is lost on the thousands in Michiana who benefit from their labor.
People see the fruit of their faithful work. People don't see (and don't think about) the enormous effort they put forth. Most people undervalue what they offer because they never pause to consider the astounding investment that was required to produce such results.
Hundreds of men and women serve behind the scenes at GCC. Many are working to make our new Elkhart site a success.
You may not know their names. You may have overlooked their contribution.
You may be one who has served without spectacle, applause or public notice. Maybe you've labored with a few friends beside you, but the cheering crowds never chanted your name. You've flown under the radar, an unsung hero working without thanks from the beneficiaries of your toil.
But God has not missed one moment of your life; He sees the role you play in His Story. God leads the applause of heaven as you join Him in bringing "up there down here." When you live your life for Christ, you are doing God's will on earth, just it's done in heaven.
God sees.
God notices.
God cares.
And as I prayed this morning, I received a prompting from the Holy Spirit, a reminder that God rewards those who love Him and serve Him.
So stay faithful friends. Persevere. You matter.
I'm proud of you.
Colossians 3:23 - Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men,
Couldn't agree more. Our 'behind the scenes' teams are amazing - and incredibly talented. More than that, these people are Jesus lovers and passionate about advancing His kingdom. I'm so thankful to share in the ride with them and to benefit from there gifts.
