1st Wednesday at GCC was soaring last night!
Before we really got rolling I took a moment to honor Seth Bible with a remarkable gift. He had no idea what was coming.
I told the 1st Wednesday crowd a little bit of Seth's story.
...How he came to GCC two years ago, driving two hours each way to lead worship for MERGE.
...How he moved here last year - with no promise of a job - and nothing from us but the joy of potent ministry with a great team of committed Christian artists.
...How he took a job at Starbuck’s to make ends meet and poured himself into his music ministry as a volunteer at GCC.
...How he had his guitar stolen, but he just continued leading worship with borrowed guitars.
Then I told the crowd what a few people at GCC did when they learned of Seth's loss. They anonymously contributed a pile of money to buy Seth a new guitar! And they gave so outrageously that they not only replaced Seth’s stolen guitar, they bought him a tremendous upgrade!
I called Seth to the platform. Everyone went nuts when I pulled out Seth’s new guitar and gave it to him. It was a holy moment. It was awesome.
I loved it.
I think Seth did too.
Extreme generosity is so fun!
Ecclesiastes 11:1 - Be generous: Invest in acts of charity. Charity yields high returns.

Pastor Mark,
Susan Bible here, Seth's Mother.
A few weeks back, God did a "thing" in my life that caused me to have to stand there, just... stand there... no words could come out. Awe I believe it was, real, true awe of God. Now, I'm not one who usually has her mouth closed! I'm a yacker, and not much shushes me up. Well, glory to God, He's done it again! I just learned today of the wonderful miraculous way God has moved in Seth's life, thru your generous people. A guitar, a rather nice new spiffy guitar at that! Once again, I was caused by the tremendous awe of our Lord to be speechless! Granger has been more than a blessing to Seth. God's words to me, his Mother, about who and what he would be whn he grew up, are coming to pass. As I see the Lord working in Seth, and how Granger has taken him under it's wing, how can I not shout unto God with a voice of triumph, and sing praises to the Most High?! I cannot express the thanks I feel for the love shown to Seth from yourself and many others there at Granger. He's got the real deal there. From the bottom of my heart, I give praise and glory unto our Master, Lord, Redeemer, Savior and Best Friend Jesus Christ for the absolute family kind of love and generosity poured out on to my son Seth Abram. Please, PLEASE, give a hug to those who gave so Seth could play again with his own guitar. I know God, The One Who gives wealth, will give back abundantly, pressed down, shaken together and running over to those who honored my son with their generosity. I'm glad god sent him to your place, out of all the places in the world Seth could have gone. I am forever grateful and thank you with a virtual hug, and a dance of joy unto the King of Kings!
Shalom

That must have been a pretty cool moment, especially if it was the highlight of the night in a service that I heard was pretty awesome. Wish I could have been there.
