I was asked by a preacher, "When you preach, how do you know what to say?"
It's a good question.
I sometimes advise, "Before you say anything, stop and think. Think before you speak."
Since DC is such a great example of a leader who always does this so well, I thought this photo was most apropos. I took it last summer at Camp Adventure.
So, what's my advice?
Stop and T.H.I.N.K.. Ask yourself:
Is this TRUE?
Is this HELPFUL?
Is this IMPORTANT?
Is this NECESSARY?
Is this KIND?
I'm not sure there is a better series of questions to initially ask yourself before you stand to preach.
Maybe we should stop and THINK before we open our mouths at all.
Proverbs 15:28 - Good people think before they answer, but the wicked speak evil without ever thinking.
Dear Pastor Mark,
Your comment last weekend that more people live by faith than science was profound. It is rocking my thinking. It is like. "sow your wild oats; pray for crop failure." That is faith. I am praying for you and the finances of GCC.

Pastor Mark,
Since comments were closed on your previous post about our Historic Weekend as Americans I'm leaving my comment here.
I just got done watching your talk you gave at Granger from Tim's blog. Thank you. Thank you for your leadership in supporting the man many of us didn't vote for but is to be our leader. Thank you for reminding us that this truly is an historic season in our country and the Church should be the loudest cheer section because of God's desire to set all peoples free.
Blessings to you,
Scott

Some time before, I really needed to buy a house for my corporation but I didn't earn enough cash and couldn't buy anything. Thank goodness my friend suggested to try to take the home loans from reliable bank. Thus, I did so and used to be happy with my commercial loan.
