The only way I can show you what happened is with three posts. If you're interested in the most incredible experience ever...read this and then go back and read two previous posts.
Dropping out of Utah on 89A we drove east to Marble Canyon and the Lee's Ferry Crossing at the Colorado River. I walked half way across the Navajo Bridge and took this photo of the 600 foot cliffs and the flowing Colorado far below.
That's when I saw them - a nesting pair of California Condors.
No way. Way!
No way. Way!
No way. Way!
Weighing in at 22 pounds, with a wingspan of nine-and-a-half feet, these wild condors were two black spots on the far cliff. So, I went after them figuring, "When am I ever going to get a chance to photograph California Condors again? I've never even seen them in the wild before!"
Eventually I got close enough for a photo (though I ruined my belt belly-crawling on the rocks). I couldn't believe it. It was a miracle I got that close to them - but hey, I believe in miracles.
Job 9:10 - God does incredible miracles, too many to count.
What an amazing gift to you, and to us, from God. So few people would see what you saw, looking at exactly the same birds. But because God chose you to see them, we all get to. I'm so glad you and Sheila are out and about and are taking all of us who read your blog with you!! Have a great day!

Wow-we, zow-we again!!!! I am sure you know that the Condor photo is a female. Wow, did you get to see them fly? There is much Indian artifacts and lore about the Condor. Was this on your bucket list?
