I was outside yesterday shooting Sporting Clays at Three Oaks. Amber aimed the camera my way as I leaned against a tree and watched the clay birds fly. At the time I was with my six kids, participating in a sport enjoyed by millions of Americans every year. I went to shoot and they traveled with me. It was nice of them to go along.
Tonight Jason Miller quoted C.S. Lewis in the service. Lewis wrote, "Those who are going nowhere can have no fellow travelers." He helped me remember the truth. People can't go with you if you're not going, and doing nothing is a recipe for loneliness. How can any agree to go along if they don't know where we're going?
Amos 3:3 - Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?
I really like this blog Mark. It reminded me of what my family & I did yesterday; we went to Plymouth to cut down our very own Christmas tree.
It also gives me hope for my soon-to-be 17 year old daughter, I am finishing school and going to college, my hope is that she follows my footsteps.
Thank you Mark Beeson, Jason Miller, and C.S. Lewis
Happy Trails my friends
