The only problem I have with the notion of "Intelligent Design" is that the word "intelligent" is totally inadequate to modify our understanding of God's gloriously interdependent and consequential design for everything that exists. There should be a better descriptor - a more adequate and comprehensive adjective chosen to explain the plan of an entirely perfect Universe. Maybe the word "omnipotent" would do, maybe "supreme," or "ultimate" ... but I doubt it. Those words are probably inadequate too, but one thing is sure. However you describe the design of the Universe, the Creation itself declares the brilliance, glory and supreme omniscience of the Creator.
How sad it would be to look at the glory of GOD's creation and not see the ONE behind it. How tragic to yawn in boredom while staring at the variegated intricacies of HIS wonderful design. All creation declares HIS glory.
Life is short. There's so much to see, so much to do, and so little time. I'm resolved to live my life with eyes-wide-open in wonder.
I pray I never become accustomed to God's handiwork, bored with God's agenda or tired of God's unending parade of fascinating places and people. I don't want to come to the end of my days filled with regrets because I failed to notice the fascinating details of God's creation - details that pointed to HIM every day of my life.
It's all too good to miss.
My prayer today?
"Lord, please don't let me become so distracted by the trials of life, or the challenges I face, that I miss seeing the creation that points me to YOU."
I want to experience God.
Matthew 13:16 - But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.
