I've got a buddy who's been looking for a house. One place he's interested in is a mess. It looks horrible and the exterior needs a lot more than a fresh coat of paint. But when he looks at the place he has hope for it. He says, "It's got good bones."
I suppose that means the framework for the building is solid and strong, that it's got a good foundation. Everything else he plans to repair or replace. He says that surface stuff is mostly cosmetic anyway, so I won't be surprised if he makes the purchase. Then he can begin the work of restoration.
Well over 1000 GCC'ers have registered for our "Experiencing God" journey. We need some "restoration" in our souls. We know it and we're commited to it. Our framework of faith gives us something solid to build on, and we're starting to build our future together.
If you've already established a "good foundation" I hope you'll take a good look at the way your living your life. If you're like me, it'll help you to spend the next 12 weeks experiencing the presence of God in a special way. I hope you'll add your name to the list and register now for a three month experience of restoration that will change your life.
I'm praying you will.
Proverbs 10:25 - When the storm is over, there's nothing left of the wicked. Good people, firm on their rock foundation, aren't even fazed.
Praying for and preparing for much restoration in my journey and all of the church's journey's as well, we will be fully involved and ready.
Amen
