This bear was coming down a tree and I didn't have a second to properly set my camera for a shot. Too bad. The photo was so underexposed the histogram was hopeless. I downloaded the pictures on my card and this one was completely black. Nothing there. Nada. Zip.
But I shoot everything in RAW, and I've always heard how you can do more with RAW shots because so much data is captured, so I figured, "Why not?" And I pushed the exposure to its limits. I couldn't believe I had anything at all...but there it was, the bear was looking right at me!
Incredible!
I guess the point of this story is, don't give up too soon. Things may look hopeless, but there's more to most situations than meets the eye. So, if something matters to you, give it a fair shake. Do what you can with what you've got and you may discover you can bring something good out of a pretty disappointing situation.
By the way, if you've been trying to register for Experiencing God, but haven't gotten it done, call the GCC office today (574-243-3500) and tell them you are coming to the 1st Class tonight at the Granger Campus! Call ahead and we'll make sure there is a chair set up for you!
It's too soon to quit; we're just beginning! Don't give up on this three month adventure. There's more to this fall than meets the eye!
Proverbs 3:5-7
Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don't try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he's the one who will keep you on track.
Don't assume that you know it all.
Run to God! Run from evil!
Very cool picture, very good thoughts.
Thanks

Hey, Mark, --Forgive me, I know I mentioned this in a previous post, but I'm feeling like I need to bring up the whole "too close to bears" issue again. Mom really needed to talk to you more about staying away from bears. Matt and I will fill you in as soon as possible. But beyond that, your pictures and comments are absolutely phenomenal. Love you much, dear brother!
