Advent.
It's a time of waiting.
It's a time of preparation.
Last night we had more than a thousand adults on The Journey. Kathy Guy was one of our instructors. Here she's teaching several hundred people who've signed up to study the Bible with her.
Kathy came prepared. When everyone showed up she was ready. Her personal preparation, added to her devotion to the scriptures and love for people, makes her a compelling witness.
I want to be a compelling witness too.
During the next two weeks I want to take some steps toward Christ. I want to be prepared for Christ when He comes.
So, I'm praying - for you and for me - to take the next 14 days of Advent seriously. I'm praying we'll make personal preparation as we wait for His coming.
I want to be ready...
2 Timothy 2:21-22 - Become the kind of container God can use to present any and every kind of gift to his guests for their blessing. Run away from infantile indulgence. Run after mature righteousness—faith, love, peace—joining those who are in honest and serious prayer before God.
The ability to councel means to listen, encourage and guide with sensitivity.
