Here's the scoop...
This Saturday is the 2nd Saturday of the month.
We're attempting to pack all the boxes to fill the trucks for the Food Drop 2009 this Saturday between 8:30 and Noon.
In just a few weeks we'll deliver thousands of pounds of food and personal-care-items to the poor in our communities. Thousands of families will have food to eat, and they'll know there is a God who hears the prayers of the hungry.
We'll line up on January 10th to give away tons of food that we packed! (This little guy, was helping unload boxes at our Food Drop in 2008.) To have boxes to deliver we need to pack them this Saturday morning! And we need to buy all the food with money from our Christmas Offering!
So bring all your friends and family, and make this 2nd Saturday the best one yet!
This is the plan:
Hundreds can work at our Community Center in South Bend. Go there and you can choose to (a) help with SonCity Kids doing crafts, projects and stories with children from Monroe Circle, or (b) help with the Cafe, or (c) help people coming for boxes of food.
Scores will be serving under the great leadership of Karen Barden at GCC's 2nd Saturday in Plymouth.
Hundreds more will pack thousands of Feed the Children boxes so we'll be ready for the GCC Food Drop in January.
There is a place for you. There is a place for your children. (Just look at this picture! This young man is a sterling example of a faithful worker.)
You can make a real, tangible contribution this Saturday. So if you want to do something important, this may be your next opportunity.
I knew you'd want to know.
Isaiah 58:10-11 - if you feed those who are hungry and take care of the needs of those who are troubled, then your light will shine in the darkness, and you will be bright like sunshine at noon. The Lord will always lead you. He will satisfy your needs in dry lands and give strength to your bones.
I had a question... Is the Penn Choir going to be singing this yar at the church again? Have they already or will they soon? I love coming to watch them and want to make sure I dont miss it if they are going to be there? Thanks
