I had help in the ministry today.
Big help.
I’m sure you’re aware that every day I have tremendous help; lots of people are pulling with me for the cause of Jesus; they’re pulling with everything they’ve got. We all help each other. People are giving, and serving, and helping all the time. But today I was rocked by the generosity and assistance of a couple in the church.
I had to get to Oklahoma City and back…and I had to make the trip today. Larry Jones (President of Feed the Children) needed me and I had no idea how I could connect with him this morning. I had no way to accomplish the task. I had no way to get to Larry.
No way.
But God had provision I didn’t know about.
(How many times have you heard someone say that? “I didn’t know what I was going to do, but God…”)
One wonderful couple at GCC made arrangements to fly me to Oklahoma City. They set it up. They paid for it. They stepped up and provided everything I needed to help Larry and Feed the Children. Without them I couldn’t have done it. Because of them, I did.
Sometimes I wonder what God wants of me. I muse, “What do you want me to do next Lord? How do you want me to participate in your work?”
I know that anything worth doing is probably going to exact a payment.
Am I always willing?
I realize great accomplishment usually requires great commitment.
Am I resolved and determined?
Today I’m thanking God for the willingness and determination of many people at GCC, and I’m thankful for the generosity of these two committed friends. Once again they have sacrificed for the cause of Christ’s Kingdom, and once again their generosity delivered an astounding impact.
I love seeing passionate devotion. It’s flat-out inspiring.
I’m thankful and I needed to say so.
Psalm 7:17 - Oh, how grateful and thankful I am to the Lord because he is so good. I will sing praise to the name of the Lord who is above all lords.
You look very Presidential in this picture.
