A Whitetail deer (Odocoileus virginianus) can clear an eight foot obstacle from a standing position. Jumps of thirty feet are possible. When a deer is bounding the front and hind legs work in unison. The two front feet touch down and then the hind feet come down ahead of the front feet. As the front feet come down the body is bunched together, and when the deer pushes off with its hind feet the action is like the uncoiling of a flat spring.
It took about three seconds for this deer to disappear into the forest behind our cabin.
2 Samuel 22:32-34 - You alone are God! Only you are a mighty rock. You are my strong fortress, and you set me free. You make my feet run as fast as those of a deer, and you help me stand on the mountains.
True story. I have hoof prints on my windshield and the top of my car to prove it. Now that was an amazing encounter with a doe.
