I feel kinda like the Apostle Paul, except for the part about him spending time on ships and in prisons, riding a donkey, living in the middle-east, making tents and planting lots of churches. Other than a few things like that, I'm feeling like he must have felt.
My phone started ringing last night with good reports about GCC's 1st Wednesday service. Everyone was raving about glorious worship, stirring sacramental moments and soaring community.
When I heard the news I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude and deep appreciation. Like Paul celebrating a good report from one of the churches he loved, I find myself beginning this day with joy.
I think Paul had some days like this: days of hope and peace. I'm having such a day. I'm feeling thankful - kinda like Paul.
Ephesians 1:16-18 (Paul) - I couldn't stop thanking God for you—every time I prayed, I'd think of you and give thanks. But I do more than thank. I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do.
