I spent yesterday working on my message for this year's One Prayer campaign. Since I'm submitting a sermon for One Prayer, Ben Sanders, Dustin Maust, Jeff Petersen, Gene Ort and Hugo Manriquez worked their media magic to capture the audio and video content.
Several times during the day I thought, "Most people have no idea how much effort goes into our weekend services. Most have no idea how much time and energy goes into our weekend music, media and messages. It's the prayerful work of guys like these that makes the ministry of thousands soar."
Spending time with these media-gurus made me all the more grateful for the privilege I have to serve Christ beside you. I'm inspired by our teams. I'm encouraged by our church family. And I can't wait to see how God amplifies our ministry for His glory.
What if we are the answer to Jesus' prayer that all who believe in Him will be one? Our unity in One Prayer will allow churches around the globe to explore the theme, "God is...." Each message in June will complete that statement. My message declares, "God is....waiting on you." Last year, One Prayer churches partnered to support an ambitious initiative: planting 500 new churches in Cambodia, India, Sudan, and China in 18 months. GCC played a vital role in the work. God has blessed our efforts and all four geographical areas are on target (or ahead of schedule) to meet that goal. Let's pray God uses One Prayer to advance His Kingdom in 2009. One Prayer begins in June.
John 17:20-23 - My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
