Apparently, there's a big election scheduled on Tuesday.
(Elections are on Tuesdays because, back in the day, most residents of rural America had to travel a significant distance to the county seat in order to vote. Monday was not considered reasonable since many people would need to begin travel on Sunday. This would, of course, have conflicted with Church services and Sunday worship, when "back in the day" Church services and Sunday worship mattered.)
How do you interpret the signs of the times?
Will this election mark the beginning of a big storm, or its ending?
Matthew 16:2-3 - He (Jesus) replied, "When evening comes, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,' and in the morning, 'Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times."
It's likely that regardless of the elections, it will continue to be political rhetoric. Sad.
I am in Washington DC tonight after attending the Rally to Restore Sanity with my son and daughter-in-law. There were thousands of people on the National Mall for as far as you could see! It was encouraging.
One of the predominant beliefs of those attending is that regardless of the party in power, we have faith that we can work together cooperatively to move forward. My faith is grounded in people, made in the image of God; it's not in either political party.

We can not interpret the signs of the times so we must fully rely on the only one who can, Thank you God for being my guide in times of trouble.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
