I'm often asked why so many volunteers at GCC seem so happy.
My answer almost always includes: "Because we encourage people to do what they love to do. We're all happier doing what we love, and most of us do the things we love better than we do those things we don't."
Watching all the volunteers serve our Elkhart congregation this morning was a hoot, and yes, "hoot" is making quite the comeback as a favorite midwestern colloquialism. (You should feel free to use "hoot" as often as possible, working it into your conversations when socializing, at family reunions or during business lunches.)
Galatians 6:4-5 - Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don't be impressed with yourself. Don't compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.
