We prayed in unison this weekend. It meant a lot to me and I think I'll be offering that prayer again, and again, and again.
This is the prayer we prayed.
Lord Jesus, we ask you to open our hearts.
Help us respond to the needs of all our brothers and sisters.
Help us pray, and hear our prayers.
For peace in our country,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For the victims of violence everywhere,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For those struggling for peace and justice,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For churches laboring in places of conflict,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For political leaders and all those in power,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For a world without war and violence,
Lord, hear our prayer.Almighty God, my Father in Heaven,
Lead me from death to life,
from falsehood to truth.
Lead me from despair to hope,
from fear to trust.
Lead me from hate to love,
from war to peace.Let peace prevail in America, in Egypt, and all over the world.
Let your Kingdom come.
Let peace fill our hearts and homes.
Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We pray all this in the Name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen.
Ephesians 6:13-18 - Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your life. God's Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.
This prayer meant so much, Mark. Thank you!
