My dear friend Dr. Bob is an inspiration to me. He's an incredible teacher of the scriptures so I should not have been surprised to see him launching this week's class of Experiencing God as Moses.
Fantastic! He began as Moses and finished as himself. I loved every minute of Bob's instruction. He's one of GCC's Teaching Pastors, and he's one of my heroes. (By the way, so is Moses.)
Bob said, "God sets the lonely in families. We are a church that's all about other people. We need to love them and bring them into the household of God."
Bob said this is our question: "Will I, or will I not adjust? Will I love enough to adjust my life so I can bring the lonely into the family of God?"
Get ready for a week of major adjustments as you Experience God this week. Fix your attention on God and you'll be changed from the inside out.
Romans 12:1-2 - So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
I so enjoyed and Needed this Monday nights interaction too.
