Jason MIller led our Experiencing God discussions this week. He said, "What we most wrestle with is simply that we look at ourselves, and we hear God's calling, and we say, 'Me? It can't be me! You can't mean me!' But God is calling. So when we hear God calling this week let's say, 'Bring it on.'"
Here's what Blackaby says about living with such faith:
- When God speaks, my response requires faith.
- Faith is confidence that what God has promised or said will come to pass.
- Sight is the opposite of faith.
- Faith must be in a Person.
- Before I call myself, my family, or my church to exercise faith, I must be sure I have heard a word from God.
- When God lets me know what He wants to do through me, it will be something only He can do.
- What I believe about God will determine what I do.
Blackaby adds, "Our world is not seeing God because we are not attempting anything that only God can do."
The world experiences God in unexpected ways when God accomplishes something only He can do through the faith His people have to attempt such things. If people in our relational network aren't responding to God, maybe it's because they're not recognizing God in what the we're doing.
What would happen if I began to doing what God tells me to do?
If genuine faith is demonstrated by action, what are my actions saying about my faith in God?
Hebrews 11:6 - Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
