Did you ever see a Coot cruising along? You may marvel at its relaxed posture and the ease with which it moves, but remember this. Even if you can't see it, under the surface that bird is paddling like mad!
Don't think progress happens without effort. No matter how easy that progress seems to casual observers, serious progress usually requires serious work.
Where am I making a serious effort these days?
- In my relationship with Jesus.
- In my relationship with Sheila.
- In my family.
- In my study and practice of leadership.
- In my staff and friends at GCC.
- In my aging body.
How about you?
2 Peter 1:5-10 - Make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.
