I've known Doug Slaybaugh for years. He was a driving influence in the early days of my training as a church planter and he helped GCC through some of her wonderful highs and difficult lows. Now he is leading our Senior Management Team through Tom Paterson's Stratop (Strategic Operation Planning) process. It's 3 days of challenging work that helps us engage our 2016 Vision.
Here's one take-away for you. Even though it's obvious and self-evident, it's a little zinger that rang my bell.
"Plans don't self-execute."
I'm glad Doug is here. Every time I interrupt and try to jump ahead he calmly says, "Trust the process."
I love this stuff.
Proverbs 15:22 - Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.
You are right "self-evident" but oh so important to remember... Love it.
Makes me rethink this scripture I used on my facebook the other day, How Should I be acting on it, huh??
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:10-12
