The little white weasel in the picture above has seventy or eighty minutes of opportunity to find food during each low tide. That knowledge triggered my memory of this Bible passage: "Our lifetime is seventy years or, if we are strong, eighty years."

"When the tide is out, the table is set."
That's what I learned during my extended-stay on Kodiak Island.
There are brief minutes when critters can plunder the rich abundance of food revealed by the low tide. Their opportunity is short-lived. Once the tide rolls in, easy access ends. The animals know there's no time to waste so they swoop-in to maximize what little time they have.
I don't have any time to waste either.
My days are numbered and it seems my own mortality is ever before me. I don't want to waste my opportunities. Value is predicated on scarcity and when I forget my days are numbered I lose my appreciation for them. "I assume I can do that later," is the enemy of action now.
You can think of it as a "Bucket List" if that helps you, but prioritizing your desired outcomes will help you know which things to do so you can achieve the results you want in the fleeting time you have left. Use your brief (therefore precious) moments of opportunity to do things that don't produce results and you'll fail to achieve your goals.
We're burning through the days of our lives like an inferno. There's no time to waste.
This is the time to figure out what God is doing and adjust our lives to join HIM.
Colossians 4:5b - Make good use of your time.
