Go out to the ELC Natural Playground we're constructing at the Granger Campus and you'll see scaffolding erected around a big old tree. Way up on the scaffold is Scott Lepley, wood-carver extraordinaire, wielding chainsaws like a sculptor's chisels to bring the denizens of the forest to life.
It's the most amazing thing to see. Eagles and bears and raccoons are cropping up where tree trunks used to be. Who knew these characters were resident in the wood? Who knew the trunk of a tree could be so transformed by the deft hand of a skilled craftsman?
Check it out when you get the chance.
You'll be amazed.
Acts 11:6 - Milling around on it were farm animals, wild animals, reptiles, birds—you name it, it was there. Fascinated, I took it all in.
