Watching-over my daughter as she watched-over her daughter tripped something inside me and I had to stop watching for a minute. Apparently something got in my eyes and I had to get out my handkerchief to wipe some kind of liquid off my cheeks. Anyway, when I was able to see again I snapped this picture.
Not much compares to the love parents have for their children. As kids blossom and grow, watchful moms and dads cycle through seasons of protecting, training, trusting a little, correcting, redirecting, trusting more, trusting a lot and then...entrusting them to their Heavenly Father as they adjust their lives to follow HIM and walk The Jesus Way.
It's wonderful, watching-over your kids as they become the men and women God ordained them to be, so if you have children I hope you're not missing the moments God expects you to keep an eye on them. Those moments (which you imagine will last forever during the first couple of years in your baby's life) are fleeting and precious. They are too few. They pass too quickly.
So cherish the time God gives you to protect, guide and watch-over your children. It's time you'll look upon as "the best of times" in your life.
Psalm 25:20 - Keep watch over me and keep me out of trouble; don't let me down when I run to you.
