Sheila and I sat near the dance floor at the 2014 "Dancing With Our Stars" Miracle Auction for The Center For the Homeless. Our friends, Maribeth Roncz and Rick VanVlasselear were kind enough to let us sit at their table. They have huge impact on our community and some of their best efforts go into making "Dancing With Our Stars" a success.
GCC volunteers have been involved with the fundraiser for years. Sheila always helps register guests. I always take a few pictures. My friend Jeff Petersen took some too, but his are much better. (He's your man if you're looking for a great professional photographer. Go here to Jeff's Website and scroll down his pictures to see if you can find the ones he took of Amber and me at her wedding.)
It's always a night of great generosity, raising a lot of money for a really good cause.
This guy?
He's Steve Camilleri, Executive Director
of the Center for the Homeless.
Apparently, he does pushups.
Psalm 30:8-12
I called out to you, God;
I laid my case before you:
“Can you sell me for a profit when I’m dead?
auction me off at a cemetery yard sale?
When I’m ‘dust to dust’ my songs
and stories of you won’t sell.
So listen! and be kind!
Help me out of this!”
You did it: you changed wild lament
into whirling dance;
You ripped off my black mourning band
and decked me with wildflowers.
I’m about to burst with song;
I can’t keep quiet about you.
God, my God,
I can’t thank you enough.
