Grapes Don't Come From a Briar Bush

 

 

I was in Jerusalem with about four dozen GCC'ers and we were near Golgotha. I was thinking about Jesus carrying his own cross toward his crucifixion and I was wondering how such evil could come from us, how we could torture and kill the Son of God.

Then I looked up and saw this cluster of grapes and remembered Jesus had some things to say about good men producing good fruit, and evil men bringing forth evil ...

Oh GOD, cleanse our hearts.

 

Luke 6:43-45  -  For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit. For each tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush.  The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil...
